About Magnolia Core

Magnolia Core Consulting was established in 2018 in Taipei to help owner-led companies understand and improve how their daily operations actually run.

Magnolia Core Consulting is the registered business name under which we provide operational process review services to owner-led companies in Taiwan.

Our beginning

The practice was established in 2018 when founder Yen Hao-Chen left a regional accounting firm after a decade of advising small manufacturers and retail groups. Clients kept asking the same question: they knew their profit margin but not why certain weeks felt chaotic. Magnolia Core was formed to answer that question by observing work on the shop floor, in the back office, and at the counter — not from spreadsheets alone.

We opened our Taipei office on Sample Street to stay close to the businesses we serve: importers, light manufacturers, clinic groups, catering kitchens, and trades firms where the owner still signs every supplier cheque.

What we do

We conduct structured operational reviews. A consultant visits your premises, interviews the people who do the work, and traces how information and materials move. You receive a written map of current processes, friction points ranked by impact, and practical recommendations you can act on without buying new systems.

We do not sell software, run payroll, or take over your bookkeeping. Our role ends when you have a clear picture and a prioritised action list.

Our team

Yen Hao-Chen — Lead consultant. Former operations adviser at a mid-size accounting practice. Specialises in order-to-cash reviews for firms with 8–40 staff.

Su Pei-Ling — Senior associate. Background in hospitality operations and franchise rollouts. Leads handover and training-readiness reviews.

Wu Jia-Ming — Associate consultant. Focuses on inventory and supplier process audits for wholesale and distribution clients.

How we work with clients

We speak plainly, take notes in your presence, and share draft findings before finalising a report. Most engagements involve two to four days on site plus a follow-up call two weeks later to answer questions as you implement changes.

We respect confidentiality: employee names in internal reports can be anonymised on request, and we do not publish client identities without written permission.

Community

Magnolia Core sponsors an annual half-day workshop for second-generation owners in the Greater Taipei area, covering succession planning basics and operational documentation habits. Attendance is by invitation from existing clients and partner accountants.
